B & I will soon try a new travel adventure. We will be moving around to avoid the winter snows. We both still enjoy snow--but, pushing and blowing it has become old hat and literally tiring. We will attempt to avoid it by using a truck camper--and truck--to wander in those areas a little further south of NH where it is warmish and not so coldish--for example VA, NC, SC, and GA. (Please note, no FL--neither one of us finds travel there to our liking--although we have friends and relatives who do.) When we start out in a few weeks, we will post our experiences in this blog.
We will travel without any set plan, arrangements, or reservations. Our general plan is to head first to the Williamsburg area and then south along the coast.
We have used the camper once, since picking it up at the beginning of August, on a two-night camping trip during Columbus Day week--We went to Swanzey Lake Campground on Swanzey Lake in Swanzey, NH. We had good weather and a good experience; we learned a little about how the camper works. As a result, we learned some things shouldn't be done and some things needed to be done--especially in connecting and disconnecting the sewer line.
The campground is a great facility with a good beach area. It also has two cottages for rent which we may look into if K&D's family come up again during the summer month.
The drive home went well. There were no problems handling the truck with camper in place. We even drove it on Main St in Concord, NH on our way to CamperWorld's store in Chichester.
I have made some modification to the interior in order to get some additional storage which looks like it should work out. Today, I made a new storage tube for the sewer line. It should be better than what I tried on the Swanzey trials.
